Official Inauguration of the Journal of Marginalized Communities and Social Justice

Blue Ocean Insights Research Center is proud to announce the successful official inauguration of the Journal of Marginalized Communities and Social Justice (JMCSJ), held on 18 July 2026 at the BMICH, Colombo.

The launch of JMCSJ marks a significant milestone in the journey of Blue Ocean Insights Research Center. Developed through years of dedication and months of intensive preparation, the journal represents our commitment to promoting inclusive research, social justice, academic collaboration, and greater visibility for marginalized communities.

We were honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Dr. Lars Hendrick, and our Keynote Speaker, Senior Professor Premakumara de Silva.

We also sincerely thank Mr. Ruwan Samarakkody, Chief Risk Officer of the Bank of Ceylon; Professor Saman Fernando; Professor Saman Chandra Ranasingha; Professor Sandun Senarath; Professor Thamara Gunasekara; Dr. Kusumalatha Lankamulla; and all other distinguished guests who joined this important occasion.

The event brought together representatives of government institutions, universities, social service organisations, media institutions, research communities, and civil society. University academics, researchers, social activists, university students, school students, and many other invited guests also participated in the ceremony.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Editorial Board, Advisory Board, and international reviewer panel of JMCSJ. Their knowledge, trust, and professional commitment have helped us develop a strong academic network representing all five continents.

We are also deeply grateful to the researchers who placed their confidence in a newly established journal and submitted 20 valuable research papers for the first volume and first issue of JMCSJ.

Although it is not possible to mention every individual by name, Blue Ocean Insights Research Center respectfully acknowledges everyone who contributed to this achievement in many different ways.

The successful inauguration of JMCSJ is only the beginning. We look forward to continuing our service to the academic community, strengthening international research collaboration, and creating meaningful spaces for research on marginalized communities and social justice.

We thank everyone who believed in this vision and walked with us throughout this journey.
